Using Win XP Professional operating system and when in IE6 and viewing a web
site.., clicking right mouse, view source, I get the contents of my C drive.
At one time, I would get nothing so a friend tried something and it now
displays the contents of c> I like to view the HTML code.. Can you please
share how I can fix this. I am not a techie, so please be patient... I
understand we need to use REGEDIT..........

thks in advance. My email address is (e-mail address removed).

Here's a quick non tech idea...

Go to the tool bar with the icons on it and right click on a grey bit... you
should see a little box with "Customize" in the list. You may need to do
this twice because it is possible to "Lock" the toolbars and you may need to
clear that first if it is checked.

When you get to Customize a window should open with two panels... seacrh in
the left one for an icon called "Edit" and when you find it double left
click on it... that should move it to the right panel and onto the
toolbar... if it does you can position it by selecting it and using move up
/ move down - the list in the right panel coreesponds to the items on the
tool bar with top - bottom being equal to left - right on the toolbar.

In default conditions this Edit button should work just like view source but
is considerably safer than messing with the registry.

Close the window and we're done, but you may want to lock the toolbars again
just to avoid accidental alterations to your IE layout.
