view PowerPoint 2007 file in 2003?

Hi, someone is sending me a PowerPoint 2007 file, which won't open in my
PowerPoint 2003. Is there any way I can view this file?

Download the PowerPoint 2007 viewer.

Have the individual send in 2003 format.

Hi Karen,

Before you do this, "users of the Microsoft Office XP and 2003 programs
Word, Excel, or PowerPoint—please install all High-Priority updates from
Microsoft Update before downloading the Compatibility Pack". There is a link
to this area on the page I've linked to below. Please read the whole page
before you commence.


The viewer will allow you to view it but wont allow you to open the file for
editing in 2003. You need the "Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word,
Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats" which can be downloaded from
http://tinyurl.com/ykums3

Please beware that if you edit the file and send it back to the author who
has 2007, SmartArt, graphic effects and other PowerPoint 2007 features will
no longer be editable.
