View Master, Insert Layout

In View Master, if I insert a layout, the new layout has the title, not the
content placeholder.

I'd like to get the content placeholder to match the Master slide. Is there
a way to do this?

You should be able to use Insert Placeholder on the Slide Master tab when
you're in Master View. The placeholders should pick up their settings from
the master slide -- until you make manual changes to them.

In addition, you can duplicate the slide layout that's closest to what you
want. Like, if you want a title and content layout, duplicate the original
title and content layout and then make your adjustments. Or insert a new
slide master, then drag the title and content layout up into the master you
want to use. Then delete the master you just added and its layouts.

The content placeholder inserted in this manner doesn't follow the master in
my tests.

This works well.

This too...

Thanks.

Odd, it does work here.

Try resizing the master content placeholder. Does it resize in the layout
slide?

(I also have trouble getting the fonts to match the master.)

Oh, yeah, it doesn't do that, you're absolutely right. That's because you're
adding the placeholder, so it's expecting you to draw it in where you want
it. You could use the dialog launcher on the Drawing Tools Format | Size
chunk to check the original size and position and then type those in for the
one you added. Or, of course, we already talked about other workarounds that
will do the trick.

Hm. I tried changing each level of bulleted text to a different font and
color on the slide master, and it seems to work here when I add a content
placeholder and a text placeholder. I'm not saying it's not happening there,
just that I can't seem to make it happen here! :)
