View Icon problem

I have constructed six WebPages with proper links. On the left hand
side of the screen is the "Views" panel with "Page", "Folders",
"Reports", "Navigation", "Hyperlinks", and "Tasks" icons.
With the "Page" view open I can access and work on all six pages
without problem.
When I click on "Folders" it is blank except for a statement as
follows: "When a web is open, this view lets you organize its files
and folders".
On the "Reports" link it reads: "When a web is open, this view reports
on the status of its files and hyperlinks".
Similar messages are on the "Reports", "Navigation", "Hyperlinks" and
"Task" links.

If I go to "File", "Open web..." to the file location I see folders:
index_files, newletter_files, picture_files, and schedule_files.
Except for Picture folder these are all names of some of the WebPages
I created. When I open the folders there are all blank.

Obliviously, I have done something wrong or have the setting off. Do
the experts have a solution? Probable something simple, but I can find
it.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

It sounds as if you've just created a folder with some web pages in it.
Open FrontPage, and click file > open site. browse to the folder contain the pages and right click on the
folder.
Select "Convert to web."

The folder will then display with a blue globe on it.

Hit Me FPhttp://www.95isalive.com/fixes/HitMeFP.htm
I opened FrontPage (2003), clicked on File and my two options to open
are: "Open..." and "Open Web..." (No "open site")

When I use "Open..." and go to the proper folder, then right click my
options are: Select, Convert to Adobe PFD, Convert to Adobe
Acrobat..., Open with, WinZip, Send To, Cut, Copy, Create Shortcut,
Delete, Rename, and Properties - But NO "Convert to Web".

Almost the same with File > "Open Web..." , navigate to the folders
("index_files", etc. as indicated above are empty). My options are
Select, Explore, Command Prompt Here, Open as Notebook in OneNote,
Sharing and Security, and so on. But still NO "Convert to Web".

Must be one of those days when I need it pounded into my head.

Any suggestions....

Open FrontPage, then File->Open Web (this is the same as Open Site,
which is for FP2003).
Browse to the folder where your files are stored. (If you open that
file it will NOT show any files, since websites are always folders.)
Click ONCE on the folder to highlight it, but do NOT open the folder.
Click the Open button.
FP will ask to add information to the folder, and convert to web site.
Your options are Yes or No (or words to that effect). Pick Yes.
The web will open and all files will be visible except the
pagename_files folders - these will be permanently hidden.
