Hi,

When I click on the VIEW toolbar the following are greyed out and therefore
I cant use them:
Folders
Reports
Navigation
Hyperlinks and
Tasks
The only one I can click on and use is Page. This problem as only just
happened as I used to be able to open folders etc.
How do I get back to been able to view my web site folders on the left hand
side of the screen?
I'm using front page 2003.
Please help and I do really appreciate any feedback with my problem.

When I used to open front page it allowed me to open my web site folders from
the open drop down menu and on chossing my web site folder it would then be
viewable on the left hand side of my computer screen within frontpage. I
don't now have this, what I now see is a seperate dialogue box with my web
sites. It was much better when I could see my web site folder on the left
hand side within front page.
I cannot click on any of the following withn the VIEW toolbar:
Folders
Reports
Navigation
Hyperlinks and
Tasks
I've reinstalled forint page but the problem remains.
Please help. Thanks..

Yes I have opened a web site and I can still work on my web sites. My problem
is I cannot see my web site folders, as normal, on the left hand side of my
computer screen. All I can select in the VIEW toolbar window is PAGE, I can
not view folders, repors etc.

I used to do the following:

1) Open front page.

2) My web sites folders would then show on the left hand side of the screen.

3) I would then double click on the web site folder I wanted to open.

4) All the sub foldes, files and web pages wold then be shown for that web
site on the left hand side of my screen.

5) I would then click on the web page I wantd to work on.

6) That web page would then open up in front page.

Now all I get when I open front page is a blank page. To open my web sites I
now have to go to FILE, OPEN and a dsepoerate dialogue box opens from where I
click on my web sites, this however is a far more long winded process.

I've tried re-installing front page but the problem still persisits.

One other thing which as changed is that the "my webs" folder in my
documents no longer as the blue globe type symbol in it. Not sure if this as
anything to do with my above problem.

Please help as its driving me MAD. Thanks.

Open FP
File | Open Site
browse to the location where you keep your websites and click on the one you
want to open
Click on Open
It should open in FP

View | Folder List (if you don't see the list of files/folders on the left
side)

As Ron said, you must use "File->Open Site" to open the web site, NOT
File->Open.

When the site is open the folders should appear on the left and all
those greyed out menu options will be available again.

Then do:
Tools->Options
On the General Tab, tick the box labelled "Open the last Web site
automatically when FrontPage starts"
This will restore the function of the web site being open when you start
FrontPage.

I have no problem opening my web sites in front page. The problem I have is
how I have to open them.
Originally I would do the following:
1) Open front page.
2) Go to FILE on the toolbar and click on OPEN. This would then open up a
dialogue box. Within the dialogue dox aere my web sites. I would then click
on the web site I wanted to work on all the files and folders in that web
site would then open up with front page on the left hand side of the screen.
This made it very easy to work on the web site.
Now I have to do the followinhg

Now all I get when I open front page is a blank page. To open my web sites
I now have to go to FILE, OPEN and a seperate dialogue box opens from
where I click on my web sites. BUT they don't open up within front page like
they used to and I have to repeat this procedure every time I want to open a
web site file This is a far more long winded process than what I originally
had to do.

Please help as its driving me MAD. Thanks.

Yes I know it only opens web sies and thats what it used to do.

However now when I go File - Open Site and then click on the web site I want
to work on the files contained in the web site no longer open up on the left
hand side of the screen within front page like they used to. This is what I
cannot understand.

No,

But I have managed to open a very old site with no problems. When I try to
open any other web site I get the following warning message:

"unable to create a disk-based web at C:\.......................because
there is another, non disk based web beneath it at
C:\..............................

I have no idea what this means.
