Boy do I feel stupid! I have just recently joined these discussion groups &
love them! Even though, I have yet to recieve any replies! I wondered how
everyone deals with the small window in bottom right hand corner to view all
the questions & answers. Also, kind of slow with my dial up internet to
click on a question, then click on reply then click next part of the
discussion. Imagine my delite when I accidently double clicked on the bold
heading & got one screen with everything, including the option of "print".
wow! I guess next time I find something I want to save, I don not have to
highlight, copy & paste! Maybe this should be mentioned in the welcome, or
tips from the crabby office lady. If it is already there, then I can really!
feel humiliated!
Thanks!

You are using Microsoft's online interface, as do many other participants
here. However, you should be aware that there are are a number of ways to
access these newsgroups, including http://groups.google.com (another online
interface), but you can use an offline newsreader, too, such as Outlook
Express (which comes free with Microsoft Internet Explorer), Free Agent, its
not-free big brother Agent, or other more specialized news reader software.

I'm sure there are some instructions for the online interface, but I'm also
sure they could be improved for brand new users, too. I don't know because
it's been so rare, and so long ago, that I used the online interface -- it
could have changed for better or worse since then.

I use Outlook Express, pointed to the free news-server news.microsoft.com,
but have used other readers in the past. It allows you to see the first post
(which includes the "subject" line) and clicking, allows you to see all the
responses in that "thread" (same subject).

For good suggestions on effective use of newsgroups, see the FAQ at
http://www.mvps.org/access/netiquette.htm.

Larry - Thanks! I had wondered if there was an easier/quicker way to have
