view as icon does not stay

For most (but not all) of my windows I like to set the view as icon (right
click -> view as icon). Why is it that Windows remembers this for awhile,
then it defaults back to tiles? Can I get Windows to always remember my
settings?

Run this fix, then reset your preferred folder options:
