Can SEARCH always show *DETAILS* view?

George

Am using WinXP-pro. When I do a SEARCH files and folders (let's say I'm
looking for all files and folders that contain *palmpilot*.doc), SEARCH
shows all the files as TILES (icons), but I would like it to DEFAULT to
DETAILS. It used to work like this, I don't know what changed. Two things
don't work...

What doesn't work #1:
Sure, you can click "View results differently" > Details... AFTER the
search, but it doesn't remember it as a DEFAULT next time, it always goes
back to TILES.

What doesn't work #2:
I tried Tools > Folder Options > View > [X]Remember each folder's view
settings > [Apply to All Folders]. Then I clicked view DETAILS on my last
search. But that didn't fix it either... the next seach goes back to TILES
again.

Would appreciate suggestions. Thanks,
George

Open Windows Explorer again and select Details. Now click Tools>
Folder Options>and click Apply to all folders. This will keep it in Details
format.
But, you are limited to 400 folders by XP default. To change it from 400 to
8000 go to below website for the download, it is a small one.
Folders View (increase from 400 to 8000)
