I have a presentation with mpeg videos and they are properly linked to
powerpoint. Problem is that they play fine in the folder when played with
windows media player, but when played in powerpoint, they crash the program.
Microsofts error reporting says there is a problem with the codec. Thing is
that it plays fine on another machine and doesn't crash and fine outside ppt.

I even upgraded to ppt 2003, updated to media player 10. I'm going to loose
it if I can't fix this. Help!!!

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Video and PowerPoint can be somewhat frustrating. Be especially cautious if
the presentation is to be played on other computers than it was developed on.
That being said here are your two best resources:

1. For all the info on how multimedia works in PPT:
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00099.htm

2. The author of that information has a HIGHLY recommended add-in for movies
and PowerPoint. Try out PFCMedia (Plays for Certain): www.pfcmedia.com

Calibrating the system here: That's the same "somewhat" as in "Bubonic plague
can make you feel somewhat under the weather" right?
