.wmv file will not play in Presentation mode

Windows XP SP2, Office 2003 SP2, Windows Media Player 11 (has been reinstalled)

..wmv file plays fine in Normal view. When in presentation mode when you
click on the link PowerPoint displays a black screen and the video will not
play.

Plays fine in PowerPoint media player (mplayer2.exe)

Presentation and .wmv file in same folder location on the desktop.

Played fine on another computer so it has to be something on this machine.

Thanks Lucy for your reply.
I forgot to mention in my original post that I had also tried tweaking the
hardware acceleration.

I have tried everything on the Plays for Certain site. No luck.

It has to be something on the customer's machine since it played fine on a
conference room computer.

Next I may try and download one of the Plays for Certain products and see if
it makes a difference.

Hi Jennifer

Try setting it to play full screen - I had a similar problem with a video on
a client machine & projector (though not client machine and monitor) and
that fixed it.

Thanks Lucy. I was able to get help from someone at AT&W Technologies. They
ran the .wmv files through their software and not only did the process fix
the .wmv files it also greatly reduced their file size.

Glad you got it fixed. I always process videos through Plays For Certain as
it saves so much hassle when loading onto other computers
