Dear members,
When ever I log on a site with a video to show, I press on the play; the
video starts playing for five or so seconds then it freezes for about two
minutes, the again it plays for another five seconds then again freezes for
two minutes and so on, what could be the cause, please advise.

Poor connectivity...
Poor buffer settings...
Differences in the codec...

You never mentioned your internet connection speed, what application you are
using to play the video, the web page with video in question...

Hi Shenan,
The internent connection is dial up, and the speed is usually over 50kbps,
I am using Real Player, this started quite recently and that was not the case
before a sudden change.

Codecs are not to blame - you are using Real Player.

Internet Connection Speed could be to blame - even if it was okay before - a
new noise in the line anywhere could cause you massive issues on dial-up.

I wouldn't think your buffering would have changed.

My suggestion.. Uninstall Real Player. Reboot.
Install the latest real player OR install the latest Real Alternative.

Try that site and another one with video like it and report back results.

Even with the best internet connection on dial-up will not solve
the problem - it will still be buffering. DSL or Cable will do a
better job of a steady video.

Shenan, hi
Today a few minutes ago I logged onto a site and it had a video to show, it
was played on Windows Media Player, it went so smooth and no freezes, could
be the Real player?
