video playback

I've created powerpoint presentations that contain embedded .wmv clips. They
play fine on a pc -- but it will not work on a Mac, even if the user has WMP
for Mac. Sometimes you can here the sound, but not see the video.

Would it work if I changed the file format. But my recollection is that
PowerPoint won't let me embed a file format other than .wmv. Is there a
workaround?

Thanks

Actually PowerPoint does not embed any variety of movie (with the exception
of Flash files - but that involves a different set of challenges). If your
LINKED movies are in the same folder as the presentation, the relative
linking should work on either platform - but you need to copy the movie
files over with the presentation. If you are using .wmv formatted movies the
Mac OS does not like them and they will not work from PPT (much as a
Quicktime movie will not work on a Windows machine).

Other than that, follow the links Sandy supplied and you should be able to
work through the problems - or come back with more detailed questions.
