I have a Sony trv260 digital camcorder and when I try to capture video from it, the picutre quality is poor in windows movie maker. Here's the kicker though, a couple of weeks ago I captured video from it and the picture quality was perfect, now all of a sudden, the picture quality is poor. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I should also mention that I'm using the same USB cable I was using before. The "preview" video is poor and the end result is also poor.

you really need to use firewire if you want quality. Don't know why it has
changed though since last time, amybe you have added an app or codec that is
interfering.

What is an "app" or "codec"? Also, regarding the firewire, my computer does not have a firewire port and I don't think the camcorder has a firewire connector port.

sony will call it i-link, it's proper name now is ieee1394. You will have
one, see this page for pictures

PCI firewire cards are very cheap now and come with a cable so for around
£12 in UK you can buy one. Make sure it is OHCI compliant.
app = application (programme)
codec = COmpressionDECompression, if you have downloaded the means to watch
say divx files you'll have downloaded the codec to do this.
I wouldn't worry too much about this aspect of your problem and get a
firewire card installed.
