I recently had to get a new hard-drive, and now I'm not able to use my video
output jack on my laptop. I know there used to be an option for it under the
Advanced Tab on the Display Settings menu, but that option isn't available.
What can I do to fix this? Thanks.

It sounds like you have a default video driver installed instead of the
specific one for your laptop. Usually, you will need to obtain the driver
from the Laptop Mfr. Occasionally, if the video chipset is from ATI or
NVidia, you may be able to find a compatable driver from the video chipset
mfr. Something to remember--
Many of the laptops and other video cards with a TV out will only work if
the computer video display settings are compatable with the TV out in terms
of resolution and refresh rate.
Some require that the tv be connected to the video in (and load the video
line) before any TV related options show in the various video setting
screens.
Each laptop mfr manages to do things slightly differently.
