I am unable to show photos on hard drive on laptop thru my TV set. I am using a
RF modulater to run the s-video cable to the modulater from the laptop and
then a cable to the TV antenna input. Technician at best buy said xp dosen't
support this use. Anyone with suggestions.

Have you check the laptop manufacturer's website/manual?
There may be a function key or a BIOS setting to turn the
S-video port on. S-video should already be in NTSC format
and you shouldn't need the modulator. You would connect the
modulator to the VGA port to convert the digital RGB monitor
output to NTSC TV format.
