Hello, I am trying to show a very short video clip on one slide in my PPT
2003 presentation. The first scene flashes up, then nothing. All I get is
a gray background for severl seconds. Any ideas or advice? THANKS!

Hi

Put the video in the same folder as the ppt then re-insert. If that doesn't
work, the file path to the folder may be too long so try putting a folder
directly on your C drive (so it's C:\<folder> rather than C:\Documents and
Settings\<username>\My Documents\Presentations\My funky presentation with
video in it)

Thanks so much for the hints and places to look! One more question, please.
Does it matter that the video is type .MOV ?

You will have problems if you are using a p.c. see microsoft knowledge
base article Q235950. This will give you some Ideas to work around any
problems.
A much neater alternative is to use the QTVR activeX control which can
be downloaded here

http://qt4all.onestop.net
The file you need is "QTVRControlX_unregistered_20050610.exe " which
you will find in the downloads section

Easy to follow instructions on how to use it can be found here

http://www.indezine.com/products/powerpoint/ppqtvr.html

I have used this many times in Conferences to playback clients
quicktime movies neat and clean from within powerpoint.

Hope this will be of use to you
