Video drivers install. Black screen

Hi all.

I'm having a trouble with my video card instalation in winXP.
I've got a nVidia GForce 4 mmx
My card worked fine, but I tried to uninstall the nvidia drivers and
reboot with super VGA drivers becase I wanted to run a program not
compatible with this card.
The problem is that while doing this, I disabled the video card device.

Now, when I boot the system, I can see the winXP logo that is shown in
the booting. After that, when I acces the desktop, the screen is black.
The rest of the system is ok, and the SO works fine, but the screen is
black and I cannot do anything.

I've tried booting up with F8 and "secure mode", but I got the black
screen again.

Is there any way to set up a video card configuration or reinstalling
the video drivers outside the desktop enviroment? I have acces to the
partition where the WinXP is installed through a Win98 installation.

I tried to acces the system in secure mode, with a WinXP boot disk,
with WinXP install cdrom, but always I got to the desktop view, the
screen is black.

Thank you very much.

Try borrowing a friends Video Card and connecting it. Let XP bootup with
it and see what happens. If it works Ok Shutdown and then
reconnect your Card.

Instead of booting into "safe" mode, try booting into VGA mode (its in the
same menu)

I have a similar problem, but instead, I'm on a labtop and I wasn' trying to
install a video card. I tried to configure my display (or video card) to
play a DVD. After restarting, my screen turns black but I'm able to see the
startup logo. I've tried booting with VGA mode, but I still get the black
screen. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
