video display

Every once in a while when I go to close an application a transparent or
faded image of the application still appears on the desktop. I have tried
updating my video drivers and it has not resolved the problem. The only way
to clear the screen is to shut down the computer and bring it back up. Any
ideas on how to fix this?

There maybe a physical problem with the video hardware. An F5 or r-click

You have updated from the manu site only, and not winupdate?
