video conference cuts out (msn messenger + Logitech quickcam pro 4000

Hi

I've just got a new PC (XP) and have recently bought
Logitech quickcam pro for myself and a friend.

We both have broadband and want to have video chats.
Everything works perfectly for about 5 seconds (sound and
picture) but then the connection cuts out.

Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing this (we
did manage to get it to work once!)?

Would firewalls affect this?
