Video clips in Powerpoint

Suddenly by computer has stopped allowing me to play video
clips in powerpoint. Instead of playing on click, the
image is replaced by a white square and nothing else
happens.

Any suggestions?

This is probably due to the path length being too long...
e.g. c:\my documents\users\thisandthat\judith\presentations\powerpoint\video\myvideoclip1.mpg
