Video CD not recognised

Y

you

Hello there. I know very little about video CD's so please bare with me.

I've used Nero 6 to burn a Video CD. The process took quite along time. It
first had to encode the avi file, then write to the disk, but it went ahead
successfully.
The problem is I can't get the disk to work at all!
Nothing recognises it. When I open Windows Media Player 9 and goto Play and
DVD,CD audio in the menu the DVD drive (that contains the disk) is greyed
out, so Media Player doesn't recognise it.
I've no experience of Video Cd's so I don't know what I did wrong and what a
correct Video CD should look like.
The disk is recognised by Windows Explorer. There are 5 folders in the root
directory;-
CDI, EXT, MPEGAV, SEGMENT, VCD but there are no files in the root directory.

Can someone please help.
Thanks.
