Video Cards

I'm running on windows Xp with a 2.4 ghz P4 processor, 768Mb of ram, and a
Nvidia Gforce Fx 5700 Ultra, and I was wondering if a ATI 9800 pro would run
faster then the 5700 Ultra on my system.
Thanks

somewhere in that site is newer cards (xt series etc) listing

keep in mind the processor is not as important as it used
to be, but you will get different results depending on ram
speed (ie: ddr400 quicker framerates than ddr266) and
the ati9800 is ok upto about a 3ghz cpu (Intel) after that
it won't pick up any more speed.

Obviously neither respondent has ever owned either card,
or else they would give you an ansewer based on past
experience. I have owned both cards, and let me tell you
the 9800 pro is WAAAAAY faster than the 5700ultra. I am a
big fan of nvidia, and if you have the money, the 6800
series is the way to go. But the 9800pro can still hold
its own, even against ATI's x800 and nvidia's 6800
series. Plus there's way more support for the 9800, it
has become such an awsome standard that today's laptops
are just now using the 9800pro (see ATI.com-there official
website).

You can pickup a 9800pro on ebay for under $199, which is
a steal, for the performance you get.
