I just bought Battlefield 2 after much hastling and it will not work on my computer, it gets the start screen and goes black it shows no picture but the sound continues and then bf2 minimizes and there is something saying the VPU recover thing cannot work i think i need a new graphics card but the game is not very specific as to whether mine should work and i dont want to spend 100 quid to get a game to work,

Battlefield 2 only supports the following video cards:
Radeon X700 (PCIe)
Radeon X600 (PCIe)
GeForce 6600 (PCIe)
GeForce PCX 5900 (PCIe)
GeForce 5800 Series (AGP)
ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition
ATI Radeon X800 PRO
ATI Radeon 9800 Series
ATI Radeon 9600 Series
ATI Radeon 9550 (RV350LX)
ATI Radeon 9500 / 9700 Series
ATI Radeon 8500 Series
ATI Radeon X300 Series
NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra
NVidia GeForce 6800 GT
NVidia GeForce 6800
NVidia GeForce FX 5950 Series
NVidia GeForce FX 5900 Series
NVidia GeForce FX 5700 Series

I have the Ati radeon 9200 series do i need a new card and if so what would you recommend as suitable and cheap and where is the best place to buy from?
please help,

Youngi

Oh and also looking at a tester thing on a different post apparently my processor isn't good enough it worked with loads of other games so i don't know if it matters but my processor is AMD sempron 3000 754 is this good enough or not and if not am i better of just buying a new computer?

Ooo crikey you'd be cutting it fine there.

For £65 this would improve things unbelieveably for you:

However it isn't really worth it at all. Get a new system. Even a £500 job could outperform yours at the moment.
