Hi,

My computer is currently set in 16bit colour, and has been
since install. Then one day on start up, I noticed all of
my icons had gone strange. Now, all my icons on the
desktop, in folders, and open programs all show their
icons in 256 colours, everything else stays the same
though, the actual programs run in 16bit. Also, some
programs will not run because they say there is an error
with the card, showing different errors every time. Today,
WinAmp says there is not enough memory (which there is)
but yesterday it was saying an error with the card. I
think I might need to buy a new video card, but i didn't
want to spend any money until I checked it out.
Any help would be great!

You might want to check sys/hardware to see if driver being used by yr card
correctly loaded.
Might also want to check the manu.site to see if there is any updated driver
16bit colour is to low for many apps to run correctly if at all
Assuming you have DirectX on yr sys, you may care to run 'dxdiag' located in
\system32 folder
this will run a series of tests on yr sys
