video capture

Have a conexant 23880 PCI video capture card. When I try to capture video
with it the
computer freezes. No event errors, nothing but mouse moves. Have to do a
cold start to get the computer started again. Web cam will capture fine with
it. Checked card drivers and also made sure of correct settings (mpeg
settings, audio settings, and correct frame rates) Removed and reinstalled
card and drivers, with no apparent change in problem.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Try moving the card to a diffrent PCI slot, then reinstall the
software/drivers.
You could/can also,uninstall all software,change pci slot,then install only
the
drivers for the card, then download windows encoder9 series, codecs, get the
authoriting utilitys, all found on encoder home page. This is fantastic
software
and will run all video capture cards, only the drivers are needed.XP movie
maker will run too.
