Video capture too slow

R

Rene

I have a 3Com Web Camera connected to my computer via USB. When I turn on
the camera and start capturing video I notice that the image is very choppy.
It gets really bad if I start capturing at resolutions like 640 x 480.

I did a test where I tried to capture 30 frames per second. The resulting
file had 5226 frames that were dropped out of 5717 (91.4%)!!!

The thing is, I have a fairly fast computer (AMD 3000+) with a fairly fast
video card (ATI Radion 9600 TX).

My question is, what do I have to do to be able to record 30 frame per
second using a web camera?

Thanks.

You need Firewire or USB 2.0, you also need to have the
video conversion done in the camera. You also need to use
320x240.

Why not buy a real camera.
