Can anyone tell me what I need to transfer analog video to
my PC so I can edit it in movie maker? I know Pinnacle do
something, but it includes the editing software - and with
movie maker already installed, I don't need that. I'm
looking for an easy, inexpnsive option. Thanks.

You need an analog capture hardware card... either a graphics card which has
VIVO capability or a separate analog capture card.

Since I didn't have any free PCI slots left, I recently treated myself to:

replacing an ancient ATI Radeon 64mb with VIVO.

I played around with its analog abilities yesterday, it worked fine in
PowerDirector (which came with the card), with Roxio's EMC and with
WindowsMovieMaker.

The card was $138. If you already have a good graphics card, and free PCI
slots you may want to consider the additional capture card, but my ancient
graphics needed replacing!

Also, I highly suggest looking around in the
microsoft.public.windows.mediacenter Newsgroup as there are many posts
that cover how to do this and suggested hardware ;)
