I'm just curious about these events. Seems like anything with Via
chipsets just won't work under SP2. (USB Controllers & Firewire
devices) You can see the posts here
'ViaArena' (http://tinyurl.com/4sg8b)
Via has come out with their own drivers which have a 50/50 chance of
working. Rumor has it that it's a licensing problem between Via &
Microsoft.
All I know for a fact is that if you have Via chipsets VT6306 or VT
6212L, they don't work with the latest signed drivers for SP2.
Seems like the only way to get Via working, is to roll back to the SP-1
drivers.
I'm _not_ hammering SP2, just curious as to why the drivers were
changed.
Thank you,
Treeman

Not true! I have a VIA based P-III motherbaord that has no problems. I
know that you need to install the USB filters to get the USB to work well.
