VIA AC97, driver, CPU usage, performance,

System: Intel Celeron 1 GHZ 1 GB MEM Window XP SP1.
Mainboard has a VIA 82C694 Apollo Pro 133 chipset that
impelments Audion system.

In control panel --> System --> HW ---> devices
windows detect and configure a device "VIA AC'97 Audio
controller (WDM)", and sound realy works OK.
Problem when system is idle, the system Idle process use
60% CPU. CPU utilisation shows app. 60%. When Audio
device is disabled CPU utilisation drops to 1% instantly.
if audio device is reenabled cpu utilization stays at 1%
until rebooted.
driver problem?
