VHS-DVD & HD space

I know I probably did this all wrong but as you can see
I am not quite sure how to do all this yet, anyway.
Lastnight I captured almost 2 hours of vhs tape with
Showbiz then found out Showbiz only lets you put 2 songs
in a movie so I edited it using Windows Movie Maker,
saved the movie and then opened it back up with showbiz
because I couldn't figure out any other way to get it
into MyDVD to burn a DVD. WOW this all took forever! So
now I have like 22GB more on my harddrive and I don't
know where all of that is. I only have about 6GB in MY
VIDEO folder! And to top it all off the DVD is of way
less quality than my VHS tape was. Why did I end up with
so much on my HD and where is it? HELP?

One hour of 'footage' is approximately 12gb... so 2 hours is going to be
about 24gb. That's perfectly normal.

You will lose some resolution with analog capture. A VHS is nowhere near
the resolution of a DVD, so on a good quality HDTV, a DVD made from VHS
footage is going to look pretty bad - even more so if the original tape was
in LP.

Ok so where is the file that is holding that 24gb? The
only thing I can find is the movie it saved in MY Video
folder and it is only 4.0GB. I was watching the counter
as the movie was being captured and it went up pretty
high like 24gb but where are those GB?
Thanks,Tina
