Not sure if this is any help, but ArcSoft's ShowBiz does
allow you to capture VHS directly to the dv-avi format...
you just gotta have a lot of free hard drive space -- I
just did this with about 20 minutes of VHS data and the
avi file wound up being nearly 5GB in size.

to be 320 x 240 which is well short of the DV-AVI format.At the moment, the largest size that I can capture seems
