New Gateway Media computer
I am using Windows XP 2002 Media Center software.
I have a 250 Gig ATA hardrive
I have 1024Mgs of DDR

There are very long and slow delays when I attempt to install some software
programs either from CD's or from Downloads with setup files. It just seems
it takes forever to get the Setup Dialog box to reach 100%. Sometime it
just times out and I have to start all over again. It could take as long as
5 minutes just to get the Setup Dialog box to reach 100%. After that the
installation proceeds normally.
Any suggestions would certainly be appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your time & help.

You might want to look in my computer properties. Look in
Advanced/Performance/Advanced and make sure you have a
paging file. Think it's size should be about 1.5 times
the amount of RAM. Also look in the device properties and
make sure your hard drive controller doesn't have any
issues. If you still have issues call Gateway. Good Luck.
