Very Slow Right-Click Menu Appearance

Something has happened in last week or so to change this behavior;
could have been latest W2K service pack, or newest Novell client.

After I start/reboot, the first time I right-click on a file or
shortcut, it takes 15 seconds for the menu to appear. Only happens
the first time like some sort of cache is being rebuilt.

Would like this to work instantaneously as it did before, so
suggestions welcome. Thanks.

It's the latter.

Rick,

Thanks for the friendly reply. In fact, I've done my own research,
including asking the sysops on the Novell support forums, and they've not
heard of it as being associated with the Novell client. One person has
responded that it is a problem of windows sp4.

Hello all,

I just upgraded my machine with SP4 and a few additional
critical updates and exactly the same problem happens to
me as well!! This is so annoying.....drives me crazy!

I don't think at all that the Novell client is to be
blamed, it was working OK for me 1 hour ago - until I had
the brilliant idea to windowsupdate.

Did you find a fix to this problem? If yes, please post...
Thanks much.
