Recently file browsing from my computer to devices and
folders has slowed.-eg opening drive D takes 60 seconds
and folders may take another 60 seconds

The same delay is seen by network devices that brouse to
this machine to shared folders

I recall a registry hack for 2000 but thought this was
fixed in XP

XP Pro running ICS ADSL to the 'net

Any Ideas?

What does a scan with a current antivirus program (meaning a version not
later than 2002 and using updated virus definitions) show? Also, remove
spyware with Spybot Search & Destroy from www.security.kolla.de and
Ad-aware from www.lavasoftusa.com. Be sure to update these programs
before running them. It is best to run antivirus and spyware removal
tools in Safe Mode. If the machine is clean and the problem persists,
please post back and include details about your network setup.
