I recently upgraded from ME to xp pro and now on the
desktop it shows the version information (Windows xp
professional build 2600.xpsp2.......and so on) on the
bottom right hand corner.

is there any way i can get rid of this?? i know it's not
that big of a deal, but it is a little annoying. Thanks
for any help.

Run regedit and open the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop. Change
the value for PaintDesktopVersion to 0.
