When I attempt to open a message this is the error message that I receive.

Can't open the item. Your Digital ID name can not be found by the underlying

Is the message encrypted or is the message in an Exchange mailbox?

Thanks for your reply. The message is encrypted. Please advise.

Do you have a digital certificate? If the message is encrypted, the sender
sent you a message encrypted with your public key or, somehow, someone else's
public key (which shouldn't be possible, but I've seen it happen). If they
used your public key and you cannot open the message, then Oyutlook can't find
your privaye key. Did you install your certificate? Is the private key still
valid? Did you migrate from one PC to another and not take your digital
certificate with you?

Hello,

I am not sure if I have a public key, how would I determine if that is the
case,
What would be the instructions to verify this information. And if I don't
please instruct me as to how I get the public key. Now when I attempted to
click on the "Gal" this is the error messages that I received "Can't open the
item. Your Digital ID name can not be found by the underlying security
system."

Thanks for your help.

I should think yo uwould know if you obtained a digital certificate for
yourself.
What would be the instructions to verify this information.

In Outlook, click Tools>Options>Security. Does the "Default Setting"
drop-down contain anything?
And if I don't
please instruct me as to how I get the public key. Now when I attempted to
click on the "Gal" this is the error messages that I received "Can't open
the
item. Your Digital ID name can not be found by the underlying security

What do you mean by "attempt to click on the GAL"? Outlook has no button
labeled "GAL" that you can click. Describe the steps precisely, please.
