version 1.0.615 not operating correctly

Previous version was fine. Downloaded and installed
1.0.615 over the top of previous version (first closed
down original version). The operation is not correct.
Each time I open the program it starts the setup process.
After completing setup a window comes up that indicates
Auto updating is not setup. So I setup for daily check
for updates and save settings. Next time I open the
window from the task bar I have to repeat the process.
The program seems to never save the settings.
I have removed Spybot and MS Antispyware cleaned the
registry with RegAid and just loaded MS Antispyware,
still the result is the same. I am very careful with
installs closing down all programs that can be closed
from the task bar. A fresh install on a new system with
the same anti-virus software present does operate
correctly ie remembers settings. I am frustrated.

Perhaps you would like to try this:

Uninstall MSAS and manually delete the MS Antispyware
Folder which is left behind after the uninstall. Run
Ccleaner (free from ccleaner.com)in Windows and
Application mode together with the registry cleaning tool.
Download and install another copy of MSAS 1.0.615. There
was no need to uninstall Spybot S&D.as I dont think it is
prudent to rely solely on one spyware programme.

Hope this works

It appears that you are having the same problem that i am
having with this program .The other i went do a scan i
clicked on the tray icon and i was taken to a setup
screen So i followed all the steps and tried again the
same thing a setup screen Finally i called microsoft
tech support .And they were very helpfull we tried
uninstalling and reinstalling the program the same thing
again setup screen ran through all the steps again this
time restart the computer the same thing again .They told
me it is a beta testing stage and that there may be a
soft problem that will address .In the mean time i
removed it and put in Adware SE and it works fine they
hope to have the full version released in ecember

My prescription for this class of problems:

1) uninstall Microsoft Antispyware
2) delete the installation folder and all subfolders. Typically, this is
c:\program files\microsoft antispyware. You will lose all settings and
access to any quarantined items
3) reinstall Microsoft Antispyware, taking care to be signed in as the
administrator user who will customarily use the program.

This should take care of the problem.
