VCR 2 MPG video lags sound

I'm using the aiw9800. I'd like to edit the vcr's and since there's a complete lack of software available to directly edit the vcr files, I'm left to 'export to mpg2' with it. and edit the mpg2. Every one of the exports video lags the sound by any number of seconds.

Is there a trick to export to mpg2 that synchs the video and audio ?

I use VideoReDo as suggested by Jeff Rife. It has the option of
adjusting the video/audio timing though I've never needed to do it. I
use HDTV Wonder and the export files remain HD and VideoReDo handles it
just fine.

Jeff is right about it. Highly recommended for $50.

I completely forgot AIW can record in VCR, MPG, and AVI. I tried recording directly to mpg. Sound and video synched with no fiddling.
