VB6 SP5 wont install on Vista, gives an MDAC error?

MDAC 2.5, 2.6, 2.8 install fails also.
Anyone have a solution?

I realize that. My ultimate problem is installing SP5 for VB6 which requires
MDAC. THe SP5 install program wont run because it thinks MDAC is not
installed. Are you saying I don't need to intall SP5?

I installed VB6 SP6 on Vista, don't recall any MDAC problems, though I did
run the install as administrator.
Couldn't say about SP5

Do you get any error message?
