I am having a variation of the agp440.sys problem - I hope someon can help.
My XP box keeps freezing at agp440.sys.
I haven't installed anything, hardware or software, lately.
I have installed latest M/B bios - that should be "SP2 ready"
Several procedures point to disabling the AGP-service - when I try this I
run into another problem: When starting recovery console from the XP install
CD i don't get prompted for installation or prompted for admin-password. I
get a command prompt but I am unable to access the drive at all. It is a
SATA-drive so I thought I might have to load additional drivers using F6. I
have tried this, but no luck. So I'm stuck, since I can't access the drive to
disable the service or do renaming etc.
Any ideas?
I have unplugged everything non-essential. The system is based on Intel 875P
+ ICH5R.
