You always think it will never happen to you !
I was updating drivers etc from the HP site last week, and ended up flashing
my BIOS. This seemed to work OK, but that was the last I saw of my XP Home.
My machine is a HP 7946, AMD Athlon xp1700, NVidia GeForce2 MX 400, no fancy
hardware.
Don't have XP discs as came pre-installed.
System now stops when booting, gets as far as Agp440.sys in safe or any
other mode, and then hangs.
Have tried knowledge base article 324764 after downloading recovery console,
but just results in hanging on service before Agp440 (amdagp), and if I
disable that one hangs on one before that - you get the picture.
Looks like it is whatever is going on is after Agp440 not Agp440 itself,
Anyone got any ideas before I send my PC off to the doctor (or the dustbin)
