My excel program took values from page 1, and transferred them to the same
cells on subsequent pages, eliminating my original data. How could this
possibly take place ??? Very frustrating - this is the second time it
happened. Takes hours to re-enter tha data !!!

When you have multiple tabs selected at the same time, any actions you take
on the current page will be reflected on all selected pages. How did more
than one sheet get selected?

One possibility is that you are holding down the shift or control key when
clicking between tabs. If you test this intentionally, you will see that
shift will select all tabs between your originally active tab and your newly
selected tab. Control will only highlight those that you actually click on.

Another possibility is that your keyboard has a sticky control or shift key
(this is not uncommon). However, you would probably notice other effects,
such as text appearing in all caps, or command errors (or other effects).

There is probably a hotkey to select all tabs, but I don't know what it is
(e.g. it might be close to some other hotkey you use, so if you hit the wrong
key it might select all sheets).

No, I'm with you Canada. I'm having the same problem. In my case, I have
Office 2003 with Windows 7. When I type, in certain cells toward the top, it
sotr of bleeds, as it were, over to the other sheets. I have tried several
things, and I can't figure it out. I'm blaming it on Windows 7/ Office 2003
compatibility.

I figured the problem out. It is compatibility. In XP, Excel would have told
me I was "Out of (Excel) Memory". In Windows 7, it is just overwriting things
and maybe trying to make room and allow me to continue to work - not helpful.
Anyway, until there is a fix, just know that once you start compiling alot of
data, you should be cognisent that regardless of your RAM, there is a certain
amount of memory that Excel has. You will get no warning. I hope this helps
you.
