Validation Problems

I have the real McCoy SP 2 version of Windows XP Professional. I have
registered and validated. Every 2 to 6 days, after shutting down over night,
I get a message telling me that the hardware configuration of my computer has
substantially changed and that I have to re validate within 3 days. Any
ideals how I can stop this? Is MS aware that this is a problem? (anyone else
suffering the same problem?).

Any appropriate advice appreciated.

Sounds more like an Activation problem, not Validation. These are two
separate and distinct things. But Problems is ALL these copy-protection
schemes get people, as it doesn't stop the pirates one bit.

MS should be held financially responsible for EVERY copy-protection
problem people encounter!

Odd. Havn't yet seen that on a legit XP box.

Thanks for your reply.

I purchased the copy from PC World, so unless they have started to sell
pirated copies, it might be a first

Thanks for your reply.

I purchased the version from PC World, probably the biggest retail supplier
in the UK. I activated the copy as soon as I installed it and all was well.
Over the past couple of weeks though, and I have made no changes other than
added a couple of games - Civilisation and Sims 2 (both legit), this has
started to happen. After 3 or 4 validation reports it has then told me to
re-activate. It wouldn't take the original key so I called MS Activation
centre and did it that way. A week or so down the line the validation
notifications have started again - hardware related messages.

If no one can help here I will have to call MS technical, which grieves me
as it costs me for a problem with what appears to me to be a problem with
their product.

Pre validation requirements, I have had few problems with XP.
