validate XP product key

Somewhere in microsofts website i saw where you could
type in an xp product key to see if it has been used. Now
that i want to do it i can't find the page

As far as I know there has never been a legitimate Microsoft site, or page,
where you can type in a Product Key to see if it has been used. However I
recall that there was an e-mail circulating a few weeks ago which appeared
to be from Microsoft and was requesting that people enter their keys and
other personal info. This was a scam to harvest Product Keys.

There are key finders such as the one at the bottom of this page
http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/repair_xp.htm but keyfinders are not created
or distributed by Microsoft.
