v-link on asus mobo?

what does it mean and do? mobo in question is a p4v8x-x, im sure that most
modern mobo might have this?

V-Link is the bus between your Northbridge chip and Southbridge chip.
Basically, that bus should have more bandwidth, than whatever I/O
devices are connected to the Southbridge. That prevents the bus
from being a bottleneck.

AFAIK, VIA uses pretty good busses, with maybe 533MB/sec and the
like. They have several different speeds they use, and the more
modern the VIA chipset, the faster the bus they used.
