Powered USB 2.0 port on P5N32-E SLI mobo?

I have an ASUS P5N32-E SLI mobo and am running XP with what I believe are
the latest drivers. Whenever I plug a USB 2.0 device that wants to draw
power (see, to recharge my cell phone), the device reports that it cannot
draw any. Does this mobo not support such devices in this manner?

It does, but only so much. If I were you I would purchase a powered USB hub
for use with high-draw items. I had problems with a Motorola phone until I
got a powered hub and then it worked fine with my P5N32.
