V card attachments not apearing when I open an appointment.

When I send a contact name as a V card attachment it doesn't showup in outlook when It's opened by the receivers email. It's replace with a bunch of dashes and tildes

That's not a vCard. It's an embedded Outlook item. You'll want to make sure
you're sending an actual Outlook meeting request, not an iCalendar message.
If you need help with that, tell us your Outlook version and whether you're
using Exchange as your mail server (and if so, what version of Exchange).

I would suggest that you create actual vCard files to attach by using the
File | Save As command on the desired contact, rather than dragging items
into the appointment. An attached .vcf vCard file will always work and will
not be dependent on whether the meeting request is going out in Outlook
rich-text format or as an iCalendar item. That will also make it compatible
with non-Outlook recipients, if you have any of those.

We us pop 3 email through our ISP. We send out appointments with the

customer info, taken from our Outlook contact list, attached as an item into
the appointment. Then the person receiving the appointment can drag the
customer info; attached as a V card, to their contact list and the
appointment will show in the person's calendar. Now this worked fine up
until Feb, which at that point our ISP changed our pop3 account. Now when
the appointment is opened the attached V card shows up as dashes and tildes
(~-~-~-~-) Our Outlook versions range from 2000 to 2002. Not sure which
version of Exchange our ISP uses.

Try this on your Outlook 2002 machine: In Tools | Options | Calendar
Options, clear the "when sending meeting requests over the Internet, use
ICalendar format" box. Create a new appointment and drag a contact into it
(not a saved .vcf file). Add a recipient to the appointment to make it a
meeting request. Double-click the underlined recipient name and make sure
the option for "send in Outlook rich-text format" is chosen. Send it and
let's see what happens.

after saving the contact as a .vcf file I attached the .vcf file to an

appointment I sent to a co-worker. Where as before the name of the contact
would show up in the body of the email with the tildes underneath it. Now
nothing shows up in the body of the email. Even though I had attached the
..vcf file to it.
