Is there a utility that costs less than $200 that will monitor a server's
disk mirrors and send e-mail whenever a disk mirror breaks? There are
several cases in which a working drive mirror will lose its copy of the
logical volume. You detect this usually by luck and then you have to
manually resynchronize the mirror drives. I've had mirrors sit broken for
many days without my having any clue as to the situation.

I believe any utility would be specific to raid controler used, and you fail
to mention how/with what raid is implimented.

Sorry for not being clearer: I am referring to Windows 2000 built-in RAID 1
capability that allows a boot or data drive to be mirrored.

Because the drive is mirror in software, and because it is a standard
Windows capability found on all Windows 2000 servers, I am hoping there is
some software utility that can detect the condition of the software mirror.
