I have a new server running Windows Server 2003 Standard. It has 2 100 gig
SATA hard drives. The motherboard utility has been configured for mirroring.
Both HDDs show up in BIOS, however, in the disk management in Windows I only
have one drive showing up. Can anyone help me out with this?

If the two sata drives are set as mirror then you will only see one hd in
management.
Leastways thats how it is on my Win2K pro

If this is the case, is there any way to check the status of a mirored drive? It seems that I am leaving alot to faith if there is no way to check or verify the status of a mirrored drive and I'm not much of one for faith based initiatives.

Thanks in advance...

Usually, the controller comes with a software utility that will warn you if
a problem occurs. More advanced ones will even email you.

A hardware RAID controller conceals the disk structure from the operating
system, and just presents one disk. This is why a special software is
needed, that can talk the internal controller language.

During post you should receive a msg if mirror is broken, you will then have
the option to enter Raid config to rebuild the mirror.
I have a Silicon Image Controller, they also supply a raid utility App that
I can access at any time, or config to send an email err.report -
unfortunately it doesnt run correctly, the utility that is, so far I have
been unable to resolve this issue.
