Can anyone tell me how to set up windows xp home edition to operate as a web server?

I don't think the Home version comes with Personal Web Server (PWS) so you
may need a third party program if you can't download it from MS.

Since you can't run IIS on Windows XP Home, you'll need to get a third-party
web server, like Apache.

Also, XP Home can only accept 5 concurrent network connections, so it's not
an ideal server operating system.

XP Pro can run IIS, and is limited to 10 concurrent connections.
Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server 2003 can also run IIS, and have no
connection limits.
